Under the motto "Health – Thinking, Researching, Acting Together", the annual congress of the professional societies DGSMP, DGEpi, DGMS, and DGPH took place from September 11 to 13, 2024. The focus was on interdisciplinary exchange, considering the numerous thematic intersections of the participating professional societies.
During the conference, contributions from FFAW on the topic "Psychological Strains and Demands in the Context of Academic Work" were presented. Based on COPSOQ surveys conducted at 20 non-university institutions and eight colleges/universities since 2019, the study examined what general stressors characterize academic work and whether working at colleges/universities differs from that at non-university research institutions. Furthermore, specific profiles of stress and demands for researchers with fixed-term employment were discussed, and the assessment of doctoral candidates was examined in greater detail.
In the abstract volume, you will find three contributions:
- Part 1: Data Basis and External Comparison - Lincke et al. 2024: doi: 10.3205/24gmds714
- Part 2: Investigation of Differences between Colleges and Non-University Research Institutions - Quernes et al. 2024: doi: 10.3205/24gmds460
- Part 3: Fixed-Term Employment and Doctoral Candidates in Focus - Häberle et al. 2024: doi: 10.3205/24gmds715
It was an inspiring few days at the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden!
